Jayman BUILT had a unique concept for a self-contained village modelled after the gated communities of Palm Springs – something that had never been done before in Calgary. They engaged Chatterson to brand the development and craft a strategic plan to market it.
After a deep research dive, we armed ourselves with an arsenal of recommendations for naming and branding, and Westman Village was born – a first-of-its-kind concept situated at the edge of Mahogany Lake, surrounding a central village centre connected to the community via heated underground tunnels.
Westman Village needed a dynamic logo that had to work well as a lasting visual identifier for the entire community, followed by full brand guidelines, typography recommendations, patterns and colour palettes.
Once Westman Village moved into development, Chatterson designed an impactful presentation centre that brought the community story front and centre and captured the village experience. Meeting tight deadlines required quick design reflexes and, as usual, our team stepped up to deliver.
As a friendly welcome, presentation centre guests were greeted with a hot or cold towel (depending on the season), a refreshing beverage and a brief introduction to the space, which they were invited to explore and find their ideal home through macro-to-micro pathing and messaging.
Following the success of the initial detached space, Chatterson was tapped to evolve it into an attached presentation centre in the heart of Westman Village the following year, highlighting the community’s uniqueness and immersing visitors in the village experience. It won a BILD Award for Best Attached Sales Centre in 2018 – a welcome honour for Jayman BUILT and the Chatterson team.
